Mystries Of Bharat: Jal Abhishek of Shiva Lingam
Our Country is considered a land of deep faiths and boundless miracles.
One such miracle can be seen in one of the Shiva temples situated in Jharkhand.
The Shiva lingam placed inside the temple gets Jal- Abhishek by itself.
This temple is in Ramgarh in Jharkhand. In Ramayana, this place was called Dandak- Aranya.
It was considered a most sacred forest where sages meditated and lived in pious ashrams.
The Shiva temple in Ramgarh is also known as Tuti Jharna. It is believed that the Shiva Lingam gets Jal Abhishek from the pious waters of Ganga river.
The statue of river goddess Ganga is placed on top of the Lingam. Water droplets from the hands of the statue, falls on the Lingam throughout day and night.
The Shiva lingam and statue of Ganga were first discovered during British period when the entire place was dug up to lay down a railway track.
The water was falling then also. Thereafter a temple was built. The Shiva Lingam and the statue of Ganga were placed in their present positions. People from far and wide come to see this miracle.
